Get Out and About

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As from Saturday 4th July the government has announced that accommodation, attractions, pubs, bars and restaurants will be able to reopen as long as all social distancing measures are adhered to. Please refer to the government website for further advice.

However, indoor gyms, spas and swimming pools are among those that must remain closed for the time being. Some businesses may not be able to open at this time so please check opening details directly with the venue to avoid disappointment.

Whether you want to recharge, feel fitter, or simply enjoy your sport, you can do it in Ashford and Tenterden. Prepare to encounter prime walking, cycling, golf, fishing, and sports centres.  Or soak in a spa or jump out of a plane.

Go walking and you'll stride across Downs, meander through the Weald of Kent, and drink in tranquil, rolling landscapes scattered with oast houses and farms.  The multi-day challenge of a National Trail, a day hike, or a heritage-rich village stroll - your boots can take in it all.

The golf is great too.  Tee off on one of Britain's best - Nick Faldo-designed Chart Hills Golf Club - or at a tempting array of 18 and 9 hole courses; here settings range from testing fairways and heritage elegance to friendly clubs and no-fuss, turn-up-and-play.  Many offer soothing spa facilities too.

Ashford and Tenterden also boast a leading children's activity camp; excellent skydiving and gliding airfields; an inspiring eco-centre and bowling lanes and multiplex cinemas just waiting to deliver memorable family fun.
