Woolly Week at The Rare Breeds

24th May - 1st June 2025

Pop the dates in your diary and head down to the farm for a sheep-load of fun during our much-loved Woolly Week! If you enjoyed meeting our lambs over Easter, you’ll be thrilled with what we’ve got in store. We’re going full-on fluffy with a whole week dedicated to our woolly friends, think sheep-themed activities, hands-on fun for the little ones, and baa-rilliant surprises around every corner. Best of all, all the extra activities are included in your farm admission, no extra costs, just heaps of fleece-filled fun!

So, pull on your wellies, gather your flock, and get ready for a week of sheepish smiles and countryside adventures. You’d be baaarmy to miss it!

As usual, each day we will be running tractor-trailer rides from 11am - 4 pm and Meet the Animals from 10am – 4pm, but we will also have the additional special events and activities shown below.

Sheep shearing demonstration - 11am and 2:30pm

Shear a sheep (with shaving foam) - 11:30am and 2pm

Interactive pig feeding - 11:45am Sheep craft activity - 12pm till 1pm

Guinea pig feeding - 2pm till 3pm

Pig racing - 3:15pm Sheep Trail -

All day Story telling with Little Bo Peep - Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 11:30am and 2:30pm

Get ready to go baaa-rmy for sheep shearing! Curious about how sheep get their stylish summer cuts? Swing by at 11am or 2:30pm to watch one of our amazing farm team members show off the age-old art of sheep shearing! They'll walk you through the process, share some woolly cool facts, and happily answer any questions you have. Hands-on fun for little lambs! Kids can roll up their sleeves and try “shearing” shaving foam off our fluffy sheep cutouts—foam-tastic fun guaranteed!

Then it's time to get crafty with adorable woolly creations they can take home. Join us in the Discovery Zone between 12 and 1pm—we'll have everything you need to let your creativity run wild. Sheep trail adventure! Don’t forget to follow our baa-rilliant Sheep Trail, running all day long! Grab your trail sheet from the gift shop and see if you can find all the hidden sheep around the farm. There may be a surprise waiting for our top trail trackers! Storytelling Little Bo Peep of course lost her sheep…., but on this occasion has bought her sheep to the Rare Breeds Centre for team to sheer them and while that’s happening, she will be in the Discovery Zone for storytelling sessions, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with sessions running at 11:30am and 2:30pm.
