The Ashford Youth Jazz Orchestra, or AYJO to its friends, is composed of the best Jazz players from schools across East Kent. Based at Ashford School, the band plays an extensive repertoire in concerts, local jazz festivals, has recently embarked on a series of international tours and even a live spot on BBC1. AYJO plays a range of music, from smooth jazz, latin, funk and swing; aiming to stretch the musical capability and versatility of the players, whilst having great fun in the process!
We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with AYJO. This talented group of young musicians will play in the main hall at Ashford School from 2pm, gates will open at 1.30pm and the music will finish around 4.30pm.
Tickets £8, to be booked in advance, we have kept things simple with one price to enable a mixture of generations to enjoy an afternoon of foot-tapping jazz.
Our volunteers will be on-site with refreshments for you to purchase during the afternoon.
