Days out don't have to cost a lot, with so much available for free.  With the beautiful Kent countryside on your doorstep you won't be short of places to go.  Free workshops and activities can be found at Wild Sites on Your Doostep. Why not try Hothfield Heathlands where you can do some birdwatching, go bug hunting, and enjoy the stunning scenery or discover more about wildlife in Ashford Warren and Hoads Wood. Take in the spectacular views over the Romney Marsh at The Wye National Nature Reserve

And the newly-opened Conningbrook Lakes is the ideal place for a gentle stroll around the lake.  Ashford's new Country Park is being prepared for water sports, angling and more and will soon become a firm favourite for outdoor lovers.

If history and culture is more your thing why not visit our museums, a small charge may apply.  Enjoy a free tour and taste session at Biddenden Vineyards.
